On the afternoon of April 20, 2018, based on the Youth Union’s Work Program and the 2018 Youth Movement of the Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Sports Department, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch of the War Remnants Museum held a seminar entitled “For a Strong Union - For the City Development”..

The seminar was held to concretize the objectives, tasks and solutions of the Youth Union Congress at all levels for the 2017 - 2022 term. In addition, it marked the 43rd anniversary of Vietnam’s Liberation of the South and Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2018), and the 128th birth anniversary President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2018).

Also, it was an exchange with Mr. Ngô Tùng Chinh, who was a former prisoner, a Hero of the People`s Armed Forces, the chair of the liaison committee of former prisoners of Dalat Children’s Prison, and a former official of HCMC’s Youth Union. The exchange helped the Museum’s Youth Union members better understand the unyielding, indomitable fighting spirit and the hardships that revolutionary soldiers suffered in the war at the very young age.

Simultaneously, the Museum’s Youth Union organized a maturity ceremony for five members who had made great contributions to its activities during the past years. The members shared their memories during their participation in the Youth Union’s movements, and their feelings about maturity; encouraged the other members to strive more; and promised to continue make great efforts in working and supporting the Youth Union’s activities in the future.
