In the course of Vietnam’s history, December 22, 1944 marks a significant milestone with the establishment of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the precursor of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Eight decades have passed, and the Vietnam People’s Army has continually developed and strengthened in all aspects, alongside the entire Party and people. It has achieved significant victories in the past struggles for national liberation and reunification, and it continues its efforts today in disaster and epidemic prevention and control. The Army remains steadfast in defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and in maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, enabling the nation to confidently advance into a new era of national rejuvenation.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Festival (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), let us, together with the War Remnants Museum, reflect on some aspects of the heroic and glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army throughout its 80 years of development, combat, victory, and growth, through the following seven questions!
