To celebrate the 58th anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1958 - 2016), the 71st anniversary of the Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 1945 - 2016), and the 67th anniversary of the Vietnamese Students’ Day (January 9, 1950 - 2017), the War Remnants Museum, Ho Chi Minh City’s Peace Committee and the city’s Peace and Development Foundation co-organized the 2nd poster design competition on “Aspiration for Peace”.
The competition, which ran from November 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017, attracted 69 students from different universities and colleges in the Ho Chi Minh City. In total, 169 posters were received.
Additionally, a painting competition was held for drug addicts at the Nhị Xuân Social Centre in Hóc Môn district. The event attracted 28 participants with 58 works.
The organizers presented 10 awards to the students with excellent posters in a ceremony on June 10, 2017. The Museum opened an exhibition to display the ten awarded posters, and other 40 beautiful works from both the competitions. The exhibition last from June to December 2017.
