Upon celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the Independence Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 1975), and the 25th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association (August 17, 1992 – August 17, 2017), the War Remnants Museum cooperated with the organizers of Project Yamazaki Hiroaki 8-10 (Japan) on holding an exhibition themed “The Peace Movement in Japan’s Support for Vietnam in the War (1954 - 1975) and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship”.

The exhibition displayed 160 documents and photographs, and 50 artefacts representing Japan’s support for Vietnamese people and their effort in saving the country during the war against the U.S. troops and their national construction in peacetime. The exhibition was opened to the public from August 20, 2017 to October 20, 2017.

 

 

 

 

 

Besides, from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. on August 20, 2017 at the War Remnants Museum, the Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association held a Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange with many activities, including: Japanese Tea Ceremony, Haiku Poems, Yosakoi Dance and Showcase for some Vietnamese ethnic groups’ costumes and musical instruments.
