April 30, 1975, undoubtedly holds a sacred and proud place in the hearts of every generation of Vietnamese people.
The moment the Liberation Army’s tank entered the Independence Palace, and Lieutenant Bùi Quang Thận raised the liberation flag atop the Palace, signified the official conclusion of 21 years of resistance against the United States and 21 years of national division.
What enabled the Vietnamese people to transform their aspiration for peace into reality?
How could a small country like Vietnam skillfully integrate diverse forms of struggle to achieve victory over a formidable adversary?
These questions will be partially addressed through the special exhibition “From the Paris Accords to the Great Spring Victory in 1975,” opening this April at the War Remnants Museum, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
We extend a warm invitation to all visitors to attend and engage with this significant historical journey.
